Is there a new Porsche 928 on the way?

For all the Porsche purists out there, this could be huge. On Porsche Consulting’s website there is a sketch of what looks to be a two-door coupe that looks similar to the overachieving Porsche Panamera. It’s possible that Porsche could be planning to build a revived 928 – a front-engine V8 that would compete with Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, and Aston Martin.

It’s clear that the car in the sketch isn’t something in the current Porsche line-up, and the long, sloped hood looks similar to that on the Panamera, which has surpassed sales expectations to this point. The cars proportions seem to suggest a front-engine GT rather than a revised mid-engine or rear-engine sports car. It’s rumored that if this car is built and put into production that it could bare the 928 name, a ressurection of a car that we havn’t seen since 1995.

Although none of this is confirmed by Porsche, we would certainly love to see a new V8 Porsche!
