According to USA Today’s auto blog Porsche has begun the search for the United States’ oldest Porsche in 12 different model classes. The search, called the My Classic Porsche Search, is part of Porsche’s celebration of 60 years in the United States.
Winning entries, likely to come from owners with plenty of documentation, will receive special recognition and will also be eligible for other awards from Porsche including an exclusive badge from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
Porsche aficionados who don’t happen to own some of the oldest in America can enter into another contest being held by the automaker, the national My Porsche Passion Contest. The contest will be unveiled on August 24th and will give people a chance to write a a story, in 500 words or fewer, that exemplifies their unique passion for a specific Porsche car, an experience or the brand as a whole. The essay contest will be open to entries until Nov. 1.
